An 11-year-old student died after falling from second floor of his school building in Karachi’s Federal B Area on Monday.
Police, after interviewing the deceased seventh grader’s family termed the child’s death as “suicide”. The child’s family, however, denied this claim.
According to details, Habibullah aged 11 was a student of a private school. The child fell from second floor of his school building and died on the way to the hospital. According to police, the child died in mysterious circumstances.
Police said that the child went to school in the school van as per routine on Monday. The children had all gathered in the assembly hall when they heard screaming. When the administration went out to check, they found Habibullah lying unconscious on the floor. The school administration then rushed the child to the nearest hospital where doctors refused to admit the child because he was in critical condition. The school administration then took the child to AbbasiShaheed Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.
Police believe that the child jumped to commit suicide as deceased was adiabetic patient and more susceptible to stress compared to other students his age. Police quoting the CCTV footage they acquired during the investigation revealed that the child reached at the school exactly at 7:30 am and then went to second floor of the school and jumped.
According to school administration, the eleven-year-old was a patient of sugar and he had also attempted suicide previously. The administration claimed that they had handed over the child to his parents several times due to his critical condition.
