Provincial Minister for Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has constituted a special team under the head of Excise and Taxation officer to detect, inquire, investigate and register cases of narcotics in the surroundings of educational institutions in the metropolis.
Sindh Minister for Narcotics Control, Chawla issued these directives while presiding over a meeting regarding the sale of narcotics near educational institutions on Monday.
During the meeting, minister Chawla said that it was a matter of great concern that certain elements were involved in selling drugs in educational institutions, especially in posh areas and had targeted young generation. “It is our prime duty to save our future generation from the menace of using narcotics and we all have to work in order to achieve our objective,” he announced.
Minister Chawla asked the members of the team to nab drug dealers at any cost. Mukesh Kumar Chawla also requested parents and the teachers to keep a vigilant eye on the activities of their children and the students. He said that all stakeholders should work together to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society.
Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control secretary Aijaz Ahmed Mahesar, Director Generals Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh , Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui , Narcotics Control director general and other officers attended the meeting.

Karachi:Sindh Chief Secretary (CS) Muhammad Waseem said that Sindh was the energy hub of the country since it possessed 99 percent of Pakistan’s coal, 69 percent of the country’s natural gas reserves and 38 percent of its crude oil reserves.
He was addressing the under training officers of government, who were on a study visit to Sindh under the 24th Senior Management of Course and Inland Study Tours of 26th, Mid-Career Management Course by National Institute of Management, Lahore.
The CS also highlighted various development projects of Sindh including Sindh Energy Goals, Sindh Petroleum Project, Sindh Nooriabad Power Project, Sindh Lakhral Coal Mining Project, K-IV(Four) Water Supply Project and S-III Sewerage Project.
The coordinators of visits Dr. Dawood Basit and MisAsma Malik thanked the CS for managing their study tour. Additional IGP Dr Ameer Shaikh, Services secretary Naved Shaikh and Planning secretary Dr Sheerin Mustafa also attended the session.
