GUJRANWALA: Naveed Chaudhary, advisor to former president Asif Ali Zardari considers low probability that the General Elections would be held on time.
“Elections may get postpone till November, this year or March of the next year and we seek impartial caretaker government for transparent and fair elections,” he said.
In his address to media, he said that PMLN will be split into groups and many prominent personalities may join PPP in the coming days. In an account of improved policies adopted by Zardari, PPP has increased its influence and the Party would win upcoming general elections. Regarding Imran Khan, he said that PTI Chairman has acquired no skills and capabilities to rule the country. PTI would be again sitting in opposition in the next tenure.
Keeping his eye on the current scenario, he considered that many politicians would be arrested during an interim government. Furthermore, PPP would be dominant in all four provinces besides forming a government in Federal.
District President PPP Rao Ikram Ali Khan, District General Secretary Irshad Ullah Sandhu, Information Secretary Muhammad Sagheer were also present at the occasion.
FIA arrests GEPCO officer
FIA team arrested a Gepco official while taking a bribe at Hafizabad. Deputy Director Mufakhir Adeel informed that a citizen filed a complaint against line superintendent Ansar Abbas that he demanded bribe for the change of faulty meter. FIA team with magistrate conducted a raid and caught the officer on duty taking Rs. 30000/- as bribe. Thereby, case was registered against the culprit.
Police arrest three robbers
Police intercepted robbers attempt and arrested three armed men. It is reported that the robbers entered the house of Sheikh Shahzad and hoisted his family members at gunpoint. Upon resistance, they began aerial shooting and fled away looting gold ornaments and cash.
Police immediately arrived at the crime spot and chased the accused. The arrested include Sajid Siddique and Abid who are residents of Sheikhupura. Police recovered gold ornaments, cash and illegal arm from their possession. The investigation has led to the information that three accused were involved in several crimes.
